You all know by now that I love, love, love my slow cooker. Most weeks I use it 2 or 3 times so dinner is ready when we get home from work and I don’t have to worry about cooking. My family loves my pot roast and this salsa chicken, which may be the absolute easiest meals to make. I love the effort required (or lack of effort) and they love the end result. Definitely a win-win in my book! I even created Crock Pot Love as a resource for all things slow cooker since I know so many of us love our slow cookers.
Based on this love for the slow cooker, when I was offered the opportunity to review Sarah Olson’s new cookbook “The Magical Slow Cooker”, I could hardly contain my excitement! I’ve been a regular visitor to Sarah’s website The Magical Slow Cooker so to have a collection of many of her recipes is super exciting! Since Sarah is a busy mom too, she understands the need for quick and easy meals that don’t require a ton of ingredients or a lengthy amount of time in the kitchen.
I had a difficult time deciding which recipe to make first. Each recipe in the book has a beautiful photo of the finished product and every dish looks amazing so it was hard to decide! Since I usually stick with main dishes and soups for my recipes, I wanted to try something new from the book. Mr. Real Food is a big fan of potatoes so I decided to start there. This recipe could not be any simpler! It requires just a few ingredients, add to the slow cooker, and cook.

It really was that easy to make and the potatoes were delicious! This will definitely become a regular side dish for my family. Now I think I’ll head over to the dessert chapter…the cheesecake recipe has caught my attention
